Odisha, India: From 15 to 30 December 2022, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and its Global Partner Odisha organised a contest where all fans around the world were invited to try their luck, through a simple draw, and win a trip - for two people - to Odisha during the FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup 2023 Bhubaneswar-Rourkela. Today, FIH is glad to announce that Krzysztof Glodowski (Poland) and Saurabh Vinayak (India) are the lucky winners!

Krzysztof Glodowski is no stranger to international hockey as he himself is a former goalkeeper of Poland’s national team! “I played hockey all my life and was Poland’s goalkeeper for some years, including at the Olympic Games in Moscow, where we finished fourth, and at the World Cup in Buenos Aires in 1978. In 1991, I was in India for the Indira Gandhi Gold Cup tournament, as coach of the Polish national team. I’m so glad to be able to go again!”, he said, once made aware of his luck!

Saurabh Vinayak is coming from the State of Gujarat in India. Learning about winning the coveted prize, he said: “I am a big fan of Hockey Support Team India because of the hockey story my father has told regarding the golden period of hockey for India. And my grandfather was a huge fan of Major Dhyan Chand, which makes me a big hockey fan. The sport is so beautiful. It makes you fall in love with it and gives you peace of mind.”

The prize includes not only VIP tickets to watch the thrilling matches of the World Cup but also a full programme to discover the rich culture and beautiful sceneries of the State of Odisha.

The 15th edition of FIH’s flagship event for men is currently being played from 13 to 29 January in Odisha, India. All information about the tournament is available on www.worldcup.hockey.
