The International Hockey Federation (FIH) is delighted to inform the global hockey community that LA28 Olympic tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning April 9.
Each year on 6 April, the world comes together to celebrate the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP), a powerful reminder of sport’s unique ability to unite, inspire, and transform lives — and the global hockey family continues to remain at the forefront of the movement.
The journey to the FIH Hockey Junior World Cups 2027 takes a decisive step forward with the upcoming Junior Pan American Cups 2026 — taking place in Santiago, Chile from 6-18 April — where the continent’s brightest young stars will battle not only for continental glory, but for coveted qualification places on the world stage.
Each year, the United Nations marks the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, highlighting the transformative power of sport in creating healthier, more inclusive societies. One initiative that embodies this mission is Walking Hockey, an adapted form of hockey designed to keep older adults active, socially connected, and confidently engaged in sport.
In the vibrant and historic streets of Dhaka, where tradition meets resilience, the Ostad Fazlu Hockey Academy stands as a powerful symbol of unity, hope, and transformation. Founded by the visionary Ostad Fazlu, the academy has grown into far more than just a training ground—it is a lifeline for hundreds of young people. Every day, over 150 boys and girls gather on its fields, many coming from underprivileged backgrounds, including slums, orphanages, and vulnerable communities. For them, hockey is not just a sport—it is a pathway to dignity, purpose, and a better future. Operating entirely free of cost, the academy breaks down financial barriers and ensures equal opportunity for all. Here, young athletes are not only taught skills with the stick and ball but are also guided in discipline, teamwork, and respect—values that shape them into responsible citizens.
