Santiago is the capital and largest city of Chile. It is known for its quality of life, museums, world-class restaurants, vineyards, urban walks, and the Sky Costanera, the tallest viewpoint in South America. Santiago is surrounded by hills and framed by the impressive Andes mountain range, which reaches a height of 5,424 meters with Cerro El Plomo. One of the main hills in the city is Cerro San Cristobal, which can be climbed by a funicular or a hike, and offers stunning views of the city. The city also has a large urban park, the Parque Metropolitano, which is the fourth largest in the world and attracts over 5.5 million visitors each year. Santiago has interesting neighborhoods, such as Barrio Italia, which features a mix of old semi-rural constructions, beautiful residences, and cités. The city has a diverse gastronomy scene that incorporates Chilean culinary traditions with influences from neighboring and distant countries. Santiago also has a vast network of bike lanes, offering bike rentals for safe, ecological transportation through its historic neighborhoods and landmarks, such as Lastarria, Concha y Toro, and Yungay.
