Question: How excited are you for the #FIHProLeague?

Marc Salles: We are very excited to play the #FIHProLeague because it is a new tournament and plenty of games and travel around the world during six months. It’s nice to see what’s going on.

Q: What makes #FIHProLeague different from other events?

MS: Well the big difference is that we will play throughout six months. We are used to playing just one month or one big tournament.I think we have to be very fit during the six months and that’s why it is different. It can be good for us so we will see.

Q: How does it feel to play at home?

MS: The idea of playing games at home is the reason why #FIHProLeague is made because we could see in tournaments that there are plenty of people in home games but when the other teams play there are not a lot of people. I think it is going to be good for hockey in Spain because there are going to be a lot of people during every game and we are looking forward to it.

Q: How will your preparation be different for the six-month long event?

MS: It’s difficult to think how you are going to be fit for six months. It is like a national competition but this time with all the best nations in the world. So it is going to be tough to prepare but I think it can be good for us.

Q: Is #FIHProLeague a topic of discussion with your friends and family?

MS: Of course, everybody is talking about the #FIHProLeague because our friends and family don’t really know how it works. We know it and we need to explain it to them. They say it is crazy to travel around the world within six months and go to Argentina just for one game but for us as professional hockey players we see it just like the Champions League in football. It’s travel, go there and try to arrive in the best shape you can as a team and then enjoy all the time with your teammates and hope by the end of it that is a very very good tournament which everyone is following.

Q: Who will win?

MS: It is difficult to say who is going to win but I would push for teams like Argentina and Australia who are more used to travel and make big trips around the world. So I give a little advantage to them.
