Question: How excited are you for the #FIHProLeague?
Arthur Van Doren: We are looking forward to playing in front of our home crowds especially. Playing games in your home ground with some stakes is something really nice and something we’re looking forward to. It is going to be really cool, I think.
Q: What makes #FIHProLeague different from other events?
AVD: It’s going to be different because you are going to have a lot of home games, instead of playing one tournament in front of one home crowd. I think a lot of people will enjoy supporting their team. It’s going to be cool to see a lot of people coming to the stadiums and supporting their teams.
Q: How does it feel to play at home?
AVD: Playing in front of your home crowd is a big difference, always a big benefit for your team. So it is always cool to play in front of your home crowd and the home team should get a good boost.
Q: How will your preparation be different for #FIHProLeague?
AVD: It’s going to be different from what we are used to. Remains to be seen how we cope with it and evolve in that. For us I think it is going to be big periods of training and maybe periods where we are more focussed on the club side. So remains to be seen how we fill it in. But it is going to be spectacular for sure.
Q: Is #FIHProLeague a topic of discussion with your friends and family?
AVD: The fact that the concept of #FIHProLeague is totally different makes it a topic of discussion. There has been a lot of talk about it in our team as probably in a lot of teams but we can’t predict the future so we will have to see what the future brings and what the #FIHProLeague brings.
Q: Who will win?
AVD: We will see that as well. I think first of all you have to get in the top four and then the play-off weekend will be an exciting one.
