The International Hockey Federation (FIH) is glad to announce that it has signed a media rights agreement with Belgium’s free-to-air broadcaster RTL for the upcoming FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers event that will take place in Valencia, Spain, from 13 to 21 January 2024.

RTL will broadcast every match from the Red Lions - the current Olympic champions! – and the Red Panthers for the French-speaking part of Belgium.

Vincenzo Ciuro, Head of RTL sports said: « I am very pleased with this exceptional and strategic partnership. Alongside our experts Emilie Sinia and Maxime Luycx, all the RTL teams will aim to guarantee hockey and sports enthusiasts unrivalled coverage of our Red Lions and Red Panthers, allowing live coverage on RTL club and our streaming platform RTL play, analysis, exclusive interviews, and relays on all our media, TV, Radio, Digital. All this against the backdrop of a qualification for the Paris Olympics, an international event of sporting and human excellence. »

Commenting on the agreement, FIH President Tayyab Ikram said: “It's really great to sign such an agreement with a major free-to-air broadcaster in the country which has become such a powerhouse in world hockey! I’m sure that this will be highly appreciated by all hockey fans – and sport fans at large – in Belgium and grow the exposure of our wonderful sport even further.”
