In recent months I have noticed not only the vibe but the focus that is intensifying around the 2012 London Olympics. If you are unable to feel it by osmosis or otherwise via the media then a trip to London will leave you in no doubt about it!

Of course, it's all very exciting and the legacy element of the Games is a powerful underlying force. However, what has interested me most is the funding, expertise and high performance programmes that have been implemented to ensure that British athletes perform optimally - and

you can see the signs already!

The recent World Rowing and European Athletics Championships were good examples. However, the Great Britain Men's and Women's Hockey Teams have probably shown the most significant improvement amongst the Top Hockey Nations.

This remarkable improvement in the international sports performances of British Athletes comes on the back of comprehensive, sophisticated scientific programmes with measurable outcomes that are implementing, monitoring and reviewing performances constantly.

If you have the will there is no reason why it cannot be done in any country, provided the National Association is receptive and structured to implement such programmes.

These programmes can even be implemented at Schools, Universities and Clubs. The FIH via its High Performance Committee, working in tandem with the Development and Coaching Committee is ready and willing to assist.

Please contact us if we can be of service to you.
