Ukraine surprisingly claimed the title at the Women's EuroHockey Indoor Nations Championship in Duisburg, Germany defeating Spain (6-5) in the final. Germany took the bronze medal after a victory over Netherlands.

For Ukraine, the team that defeated World Champion Netherlands in the semifinal, the European Championship was the first ever major international hockey title for Ukraine

Ukraine captain Maryna Vynohradova, voted as the best player of the tournament, guided her team to the greatest success in the history of the Ukrainian federation.

Spanish goalkeeper Maria Jesus Rosa has been voted as the best keeper of the tournament. The price for the best scorer was tied between Anneke B├Âhmert (GER) and Raquel Huertas (ESP). The fair play trophy was awarded to the Belarus team.

As a result of the Women's EuroHockey Indoor Nations Championship and the Women's EuroHockey Indoor Nations Trophy, the following European teams are qualified for the FIH Indoor World Cup 2011: Ukraine, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Belarus, Poland (as host) and Czech Republic.
