Internationally renowned recruitment expert, Michael Squires, Chairman of SRi (formerly Sports Recruitment International) has volunteered his services to help lead the hunt for a new International Hockey Federation (FIH) CEO.
Having been co-opted by the FIH Selection Panel, his services are a huge boost to this process considering his extensive experience in global sports recruitment.
Since 2007, Squires has led the development of SRi, which now has offices in Australia, China, Singapore, Switzerland, Germany, Canada and the UK. SRi clients include a broad range of international federations, national governing bodies, professional leagues, major event organising committees, professional clubs and teams and other sports related businesses.
As the Chairman, Squires leads SRi’s Board and strategy and oversees all aspects of quality control. Drawing on his extensive recruitment experience, Squires also advises a number of charities, educational and sporting bodies as an independent Non-Executive Director.
With deep sector knowledge and a reputation for delivering world-class talent acquisition, FIH can be assured that the right candidates will be presented to the organisation for this crucial role.
Speaking about his involvement, Squires said: “As a former hockey player and passionate about the future of the sport, I am delighted to be involved in this important process.”
Whilst current CEO Kelly Fairweather remains very much the driving force behind the Federation’s 10-year Hockey Revolution strategy at present, it is hoped that, following a handover period, the new FIH CEO will assume full control ahead of the FIH Congress which will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates between 10-12 November 2016.
Applications for the position are still being accepted. More information can be found here.
