Hockey in Malaysia has received a boost thanks to a new sponsorship deal with energy giant Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).

The new deal for 2015 - 2019 means that TNB continues to sponsor the Malaysian Hockey League Division 1, both men and women; the Junior Hockey League; and a new state level hockey league, which is an initiative to promote hockey from grass roots level.  TNB will also sponsor the annual Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, Sultan of Johor Cup and the Tun Abdul Razak Cup.

Talking about the new sponsorship deal, MHC president Datuk Seri Subahan Kamal said: “This signing will be beneficial for us to move our grassroots development. This is the most important aspect of any sport. Our partnership must be a collective effort and must serve as a national agenda.”
