In terms of qualification for next year’s sensational Rabobank Hockey World Cup in The Hague, Netherlands, the last few months have been seriously busy.

However, there is still plenty more to come.

A total of eighteen teams are already certain to play their part at 2014’s mammoth men’s and women’s event, with the final six spots being filled between now and early November. Four of those berths will be occupied over the next three weeks, with direct World Cup qualification on offer to the winners of continental championships in Asia (women), Pan America (women) and Africa (men and women).

The Asian and Pan American continental championships get underway this Saturday (21 September) with events taking place in Malaysia and Argentina, while the African Cup of Nations begins next Thursday (26 September) in Kenya.

The Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur will play host to the eighth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup, a tournament which will feature China, Korea, Japan, India, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei. For more information, click here.

On the other side of the world, eight teams will be battling it out at the Pan American Cup in Mendoza, Argentina, with USA, Canada, Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana, and Luciana Aymar’s Argentina all gunning for glory. For more information, click here.

Next week’s men’s and women’s Africa Cup of Nations tournaments take place at Nairobi’s City Park Stadium and will run from 26 September until 6 October. Africa’s finest will battle it out in a bid to grab a place at the showpiece event in The Hague’s breath-taking Kyocera Stadium. For more information, click here.
