It was a great weekend for the India junior men's team, who claimed a fine 3-0 win against host nation Malaysia in the final of the 3rd Sultan of Johor cup in Johor Bahru.

Goals from Amon Mirash Tirkey, Yousuf Affan and Manpreet Singh ensured that India were deserving winners of a match that was watched by a huge crowd at the Taman Daya stadium.

The result ensured that India more than made up for their defeat in last year's final, where Germany emerged as 3-2 winners.

The terraces were overflowing and even at the road shoulders the crowd was at least ten deep as the spectators turned out in huge numbers to cheer Malaysia on.

As well as the packed Taman Daya Stadium, thousands more were glued to their televesion sets at home.
