Successful meeting of FIH President with IOC President

Leandro Negre, President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), had a successful meeting with IOC President Jacques Rogge. It was the first time both sports leaders met each other since Negre was elected FIH President at the end of November 2008.

ÔÇÿIt was a very good meeting', Negre expressed. ÔÇÿHockey is an important sport in the Olympic Movement and the IOC President told me that we can count on the full support of the IOC.'

Rogge congratulated Negre with his election as FIH President and discussed the different subject the IOC is working in close cooperation with the FIH like the Sports for Hope Project in Zambia. ÔÇÿHockey will keep playing a major role in the development projects of the IOC', Negre stated.

Besides meeting the IOC President, Negre was introduced to the key members of the IOC staff.
