Scotland's senior women soldier on in their preparations for the European Championships by taking on France, Belgium and Germany's U21 squad in the Four Nations Tournament this weekend in Lisieux, France.
Senior women's coach Keith Joss said: ÔÇ£This weekend is more about performance rather than results; it offers a tournament situation, which we don't get too many tournament opportunities in the build-up programme, so we'll be looking to simulate a similar situation to the Europeans.ÔÇØ
After taking on England last week in two test matches, progressing from a 4-1 loss to a 1-1 draw, Scotland improved their defense. Taking on board recent progress Keith Joss explained what the squad is looking to take from this weekend: ÔÇ£We're still working on getting the right combination of players and with several Western players away, the Four Nations offers other players the chance to be seen.ÔÇØ
Missing key players include Olympian Laura Bartlett, Holly Cram and Clare Scott who will be taking the pitch with their club team Milne Craig Western in the EuroHockey Club Champions Trophy in Wettingen, Switzerland. Julie Bryce (Porcelanosa Kelburne) is also out due to a pulled hamstring.
This tournament is a brand new tournament which was organised by the French coach, Steve Colledge, who used to work in Scotland. France and Belgium are preparing for the European Trophy in July.
