An Investec South African women’s hockey squad flew to China late Wednesday for a training camp.

The squad will be based at the Chinese Liaoning Navigation Sport School.

The camp forms part of the preparations for the Investec South African women’s hockey team’s participation in the Investec World League semi-finals tournament in London from June 22 to June 30.

A number of players were unavailable due to injury, work or study commitments.

Meanwhile, a squad of 20 players was named to take part in a training camp from July 6 in The Netherlands ahead of the 18-player national U21 team being announced to represent South Africa at the Junior World Cup women’s finals from July 27 to August 4 in Monchengladbach, Germany.
