Two field goals to Megan Rivers, one at the end of each half, has given Australia a 2-0 win over India and a spot in the Indira Gandhi Gold Cup final in New Delhi.
Needing a victory to set up a rematch with the tournament hosts on Saturday, Rivers first struck three minutes before half time to give the Hockeyroos a 1-0 lead at the break.
India couldn't breach their opposition's defence in the second 35 minutes and Rivers secured Australia's path to the final with a field goal five minutes before full time.
In the day's opening match, Italy earned their first points of the tournament with a 3-0 win over Malaysia.
Italy scored twice late in the first half to open a 2-0 lead at the break and then extended that lead with a goal 12 minutes into the second half.
The win earns Italy a berth in the third place playoff against New Zealand, a team they stretched to the limit earlier in the week before conceding a late goal to lose the match.
Malaysia's tournament is over after a winless campaign.
