Rabobank and the Koninklijke Nederlandse Hockey Bond (KNHB) have extended their hugely successful partnership for another five years. The news was confirmed at the National Hockey Congress in Utrecht at the weekend. Rabobank will continue to be the shirt sponsor of the Dutch women's and men's team until September 2016.
Rabobank will be the title sponsor of KNHB organized international tournaments such as the FIH Rabo Champions Trophy Women 2011 and the Men's and Women's FIH World Cup, which takes place in The Hague in 2014.
The sponsorship package is worth around 2.4 million Euros to the KNHB, which includes the contribution to FIH events such as the 2014 World Cup.
Hockey is and will remain an important part of the Rabobank cooperation. Over the last 15 years, both the men's and women's international teams have been given great support by the company.
"Hockey is still growing in The Netherlands, a growth which is partly due to the long relationship between Rabobank and KNHB," said KNHB chairman Jan Albers. "KNHB is pleased that the the Dutch associations continue to benefit from cooperation."
