The Pakistan Junior Team will leave for Egypt to participate in five nation junior hockey tournament starting on 20 March in Cairo.

The President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation Qasim Zia and Secretary Muhammad Asif Bajwa gave the warmly send off to the team at National Hockey Stadium in Lahore. Qasim Zia on behalf of Governor Punjab Salman Taseer announced one million Rupees for the team for winning the four nation tournament in Malaysia. PHF also announced the incentive of one hundred Dollars for each player.

Qasim Zia congratulated the team for winning the four nation tournament and hoped that the team will also win the upcoming five nation tournament in Egypt. He said that the real goal of PHF is to win junior world cup and this is the only way to revive the Pakistan hockey. Qasim Zia also congratulated to the President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, Chief Ministers and the people of Pakistan for winning the four nation tournament and also thanked to the Government for the financial support to PHF. He said that the Government funds are utilizing properly for the revival of hockey in the country and we hope that the Government support will continue in future.

The five nation junior hockey tournament will be played from 20-27 March in Cairo. The teams from Pakistan, Egypt, Ghana, Italy and Russia will take part in the tournament. Pakistan will play its first match against Russia on 20 March, second match against Ghana on 23 March, third match against Egypt on 24 March and the last pool match will be played against Italy on 26 March, while the final and position matches will be played on 27 March.
