The first day of the BDO World Cup Qualifier in Invercargill, New Zealand saw the recognition of Umpire Satinder KUMAR (IND) umpiring his 100th International match.

KUMAR umpired his first International match on 2 June 2000; soon after gaining his International Grade 1 Umpire on 20 April 2001.

KUMAR continued to impress and was selected on the World Panel in 2002.

Up until 5 November 2009 he has umpired 112 Internationals (99 Senior matches and 13 Junior matches).

He becomes the 29th Male Umpire to receive a Golden Whistle and the first Indian umpire to do so.

His career highlights are as follows:

  • Two Olympic Games: Athens (GRE) 2004 and Beijing (CHN) 2008
  • Two World Cups: Kuala Lumpur (MAS) 2002 and Monchengladbach (GER) 2006
  • Five Champions Trophies: Cologne (GER) 2002; Chennai (IND) 2005; Terrassa (ESP) 2006; Kuala Lumpur (MAS) and Rotterdam (NED) 2008
