Joseph ÔÇ£JoeÔÇØ Galibardy, who won a gold medal with the India team which crushed Germany 8-1 at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, died on Tuesday aged 96. Galibardy was the oldest living Olympic hockey gold medal-winner and the last surviving member from either team. He emigrated to England in 1956 with his parents and seven children and lived in Walthamstow where he died.
The funeral is on 31st May at Our Lady and St Georges Church at 12 noon.
