Context of position
The F├®d├®ration Internationale de Hockey (FIH), founded in 1924, is the international body governing hockey recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It comprises 127 affiliated National Associations.
The FIH works in co-operation with both the national and continental organisations to ensure consistency and unity in hockey around the world. It not only regulates the sport, but is also responsible for its development and promotion so as to guarantee a secure future for hockey.
The FIH mission is to encourage, promote, develop and administer hockey at all levels to maintain hockey as an Olympic sport on the Olympic programme and maximise participation, standards, enjoyment and community involvement.
The present Operations Manager is leaving on 31 July 2010.This position is a great opportunity for an experienced sports administrator to join the FIH in an exciting period of changes with the implementation of new strategic directions.
Main activities
The role will focus on ensuring that the administration of the Federation is professional and efficient in all it does and in accordance with the Statutes and Bye-Laws.
The position includes preparation, organisation and minutes taking of all formal meetings (Executive Board, Office Bearers and Congress) of the Federation, the management of the administrative operations and the logistics of the Federation, as well as the administrative management of staff.
