While some of the top men’s national teams are in Malaysia using the Azlan Shah Cup as the final major tune-up before the London Games, the top women’s national teams are starting to converge on London for the Investec Cup, which begins on June 5.
At the five-day event are squads from the Netherlands, Ireland, Great Britain, South Africa, Germany and Australia. Four teams in the five-team field will return to London in just over 50 days for the 2012 Olympics, with Ireland being the odd man out.
Each team will play two games in a preliminary round before the top four move onto a semi-final and then placement games. Australia has already arrived in London and other teams are following suit this weekend to get ready for the important event.
