Hockey Academy South (HAS) Inc. (based in Christchurch, New Zealand) is seeking a suitably qualified and motivated individual for the position of High Performance Director to implement and service a combined regional talent programme servicing the Southern and Canterbury hockey regions. This is initially a two year tenure, with the prospect of renewal.
HAS seeks a proven leader with the vision and skill-set to enable targeted athletes to achieve provincial and national success, with a culture for the development of a strong, sustainable feeder system through which the next generation of champions will be produced. Through this culture, HAS will shine as the leader in Hockey, developing and retaining our elite athletes.
This position requires a hands-on approach to developing, managing and delivering a system in which these athletes can excel.
The ideal candidate will have an appropriate set of competencies gained from Hockey experience at high performance level.
Requirements and responsibilities of the position include:
•Developing and managing talent identification processes
•Determining that targeted athletes are included in annual programmes
•Coaching and development of all Hockey Academy South (HAS) athletes
•Assisting with the selection of representative teams, including the National Hockey League (NHL) and Under 21, and
•Budgeting and reporting competencies.
