The Scottish Umpire, Jean Duncan, received her Golden Whistle from FIH President Leandro Negre for umpiring her 100th Senior International match. This was at the Africa Cup of Nations, which took place in Accra (GHA) recently, when she officiated the pool match between Egypt and Nigeria.

Duncan became an International Umpire in March 1999 and a Grade 1 Umpire in November 2001. Her career highlights to date include umpiring at the Olympic Games in Athens (GRE) in 2004, two World Cups in Perth (AUS) in 2002 & Madrid (ESP) in 2006, as well as at one Champions Trophy in Macau (CHN) in 2002.

With this award Duncan becomes the 26th Female Umpire to receive a Golden Whistle, and the 3rd Scottish Umpire to achieve the 100 Senior Internationals milestone (after Jean Robertson in 1992 and Janice McDonald in 1999).
