Germany took over the first position of the Sahara WorldHockey Team Rankings after the victory at the BDO World Cup. The German team added 1000 points to its total and took over the lead from Australia. Germany has 2315 points now, while the runner-up of the BDO World Cup is only 20 points behind at 2295.
Bronze medallist Spain moved up one position and is the current number three with 2193 points, 122 points behind leader Germany.
Netherlands fell down two places after its disappointing seventh position. The Dutch team is ranked fourth with 2000 points. Pakistan remains fifth with 1810 points.
England returned in the Top Ten. Thanks to the fifth position at the BDO World Cup, the English team is ranked ninth at the Sahara WorldHockey Team Rankings now. South Africa lost its Top Ten place after finishing twelfth at the BDO World Cup.
The next update of the Sahara WorldHockey Team Rankings will take place after the Asian Games, to be played In Doha, Qatar from 1-15 December 2006.
