In hot and steamy conditions, the women's team of Great Britain overcame Olympic rivals New Zealand at Hong Kong Football Club in an unofficial training match.
Cannock's Charlotte Craddock opened the scoring finishing a good run with a shot which just crept over the line.
The two Jo Ellis's linked well together to put Britain 2-0 up when Ipswich's Ellis made a good pass into the circle and Bowdon Hightown's Ellis slotted home.
Head Coach Danny Kerry said ÔÇ£We're pleased to get the first game under our belt. The result is meaningless with players on both sides playing within themselves and New Zealand were missing their captain Lizzy Igasan. The girls know not to get complacent, but we're pretty happy with the result just five days in.ÔÇØ
