Former Olympian from Pakistan Brig Manzoor Hussain Atif died last Monday at the age of 80. Atif was the member of Pakistan Hockey team which won the first ever gold medal at the Rome Olympics in 1960, defeating
He joined the FIH in 1968 as a council member and was FIH Vice President from 1982-2000. Atif was member of many committees and made especially major contributions to the Hockey Rules Board. He received the FIH Order of Merit in 1982 and became FIH Member of Honour in 2002.
