A new era of results management has dawned for the FIH as it successfully launched a new Tournament Management System in Rotterdam, London and Johor at the recently concluded Hockey World League Semi-Final tournaments.
The system is an online solution that allows the technical table to manage a match from start to finish. For technical officials it means a streamlined workflow that will enable them to do their job of managing matches more efficiently. For the fans it means that information from games will be available in real time on the FIH.ch website.
The biggest feature of the new system is the database behind the game action. Every goal, every card and every cap will now have a centralized location where it will be collected for instant information on all players and officials.
"It is another positive step forward for the FIH," said CEO Kelly Fairweather. "We can give our fans real time scoring while collecting all the valuable information on our athletes, helping to enhance their profile both within hockey and the Olympic movement."
Following the World League Semi-Final tournaments, the system will be improved to incorporate feedback from the tournament officials. In time for the upcoming Junior World Cup Hockey World League Round 4 tournaments, additional features will be added as the system evolves.
