Pani Theodorou, the driving force behind Waltham Forest HC’s youth disability section, Forest Flyerz, was recently honoured for her work at the 51st Torch Trophy Trust Awards.

“It was a huge honour to be nominated by England Hockey for this award, and even more of an honour to receive the award from HRH the Princess Royal! Although the award is amazing, the biggest reward for me is seeing the difference playing hockey makes to our Flyerz lives – and generally just spending time with them, which is so much fun," said Theodorou. "Also knowing that around the country there are now other clubs running disability sections too, and changing lives through that, makes me really proud. And there are so many people doing their bit to ensure Forest Flyerz keeps running smoothly, I’m lucky to be part of such a great team.”

Pani assisted the EHF Youth Panel during the recent Euro ParaHockey event during the TriFinance EuroHockey Championships in Belgium. The EHF would like to extend warm congratulations to Pani on the recognition of her work and passion for hockey for young adults and children with disabilities.
