The England women will play the USA next week in two official matches in preparation for the BDO FIH World Cup in Rosario, Argentina, at the end of August.
Following their bronze medal win at the Samsung FIH Champions Trophy in Nottingham, England has risen to sixth in the world rankings, four places ahead of the tenth-ranked Americans.
USA narrowly missed out on a place at the World Cup after losing 3-1 to Korea in the final of the AtaHolding World Cup Qualifier, which was hosted in San Diego, California in April.
The sides' last competitive meeting came in the bronze medal match at the 2007 Champions Challenge in Baku when goals from Cathy Gilliat Smith and Rachel Walker secured a 2-1 victory for England. A number of England's athletes also played for Great Britain against USA in a 0-0 draw at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. USA went on to finish eighth in Beijing while Great Britain finished sixth.
England's competitive record against USA reads played 48, won 34, drawn eight, lost six.
Among their ranks, USA can call upon six players with more than 100 international appearances to their name, including the experience of goalkeeper Amy Tran, who has twice been named in the International Hockey Federation's (FIH) World All Stars Team, in 2006 and 2007.
