The stage is set for a thrilling finale to hockey's indoor season with a full house expected at Wembley for the super sixes National Indoor Hockey Finals on Sunday.
Six of the country's top teams will be cheered on by 5000 spectators at the iconic Wembley Arena as they battle it out for the national crown and the chance to represent England in Europe next season.
Fans will see four thrilling action packed matches, beginning with the first of the men's semi finals; defending champions East Grinstead versus Old Loughtonians of Essex. East Grinstead will have to do without the influence of injured England and Great Britain international Ashley Jackson but can still call upon experienced international players Glenn Kirkham and Barry Middleton, who was named by the Hockey Writers' Club as their 2010 Player of the Year on Wednesday. Semi final two features Reading, whose squad contains five of the players set to represent England at the Indoor World Cup, and Beeston, whose goalkeeper George Pinner is also in World Cup squad.
The women's final will be contested by Cheshire club Bowdon Hightown, the 2009 winners, and Reading, who qualified for the final after beating defending champions Leicester in the semi finals in Worcester two weeks ago. Reading's presence in the women's final owes much to the goal scoring exploits of England and Great Britain forward Alex Danson and means the Berkshire club's supporters will have two teams to get behind at Wembley.
As well as the top class hockey on display, visitors to Wembley Arena will be treated to a performance from singer songwriter Katy Shotter, fresh from performing the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards, and Storm Free Runners, whose incredible freestyle acrobatics display is sponsored by Maxifuel, the Official Nutrition Partner of the England and Great Britain hockey teams.
Hockey fans should be aware that with this year's super sixes Finals not televised, the only way to see all the action is to head along to Wembley Arena. With a full house expected, spectators are encouraged order their tickets in advance to guarantee entry.
