Host England upset defending Champion Argentina on the opening day of the Samsung FIH Champions Trophy here in Nottingham, England. The English team took a 2-1 victory over ÔÇÿLas Leonas'.
In other opening day action, Olympic and World Champion Netherlands defeated New Zealand 3-1, while Germany defeated China 2-1.

Germany have started their Samsung FIH Champions Trophy campaign in the best possible way with a hard fought victory over China. China dominated much of the game and took the lead thanks to a goal from XU Xiaoxu, but a double strike from Eileen HOFFMANN sealed all three points for Germany.
