England won the second of their two matches against Ireland in Dublin after coming from behind to beat an experienced Ireland side 3-1 courtesy of goals from Beijing Olympians Alex Danson and Kate Walsh, and a first senior international goal from Katie Long.
With both teams looking to improve on Friday's scrappy 1-0 England victory it was the hosts that started brighter, netting the opening goal in just the third minute of the game from a Nicky Symmons penalty corner effort that was flicked low inside Beth Storry's right hand post.
England, led by captain-for-the day Helen Richardson who was making her 100th senior England appearance, equalized soon after through Alex Danson, whose shot from the left top of the circle found the back of the net.
As the half progressed England began pressing Ireland and after three previously unsuccessful penalty corners Kate Walsh scored with a well executed penalty corner drag flick in the 20th minute.
Three minutes after the sides returned for the second half Katie Long added her name to the score sheet in only her fourth senior appearance, diving at the far post to deflect the ball into the net for her first senior international goal.
Despite the loss of Loughborough Students defender Laura Unsworth to a facial injury shortly afterwards, England held on to win the match 3-1.
Speaking at the culmination of four days in Ireland Head Coach Danny Kerry said, 'Today we saw a good improvement from game one. We started the second half well and I thought we had more control of the game than in the first. It has certainly been a useful training camp but there is an enormous amount of work to be done between now and the summer tournaments.'
Sarah Page was expected to play today's match however, after continuing to feel ill it was agreed that she would remain in the stands. Laura Unsworth's facial injury is not thought to be serious.
