The men's team of Egypt started the African Olympic Qualifier extremely well. Egypt nailed Uganda 18-0 in its first match here in Nairobi, Kenya. Egypt is together with South Africa the main candidate to win the African Olympic Qualifier and to obtain a ticket for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

In the women's competition, South Africa scored its second victory. The South African team was too strong for Nigeria (8-0). In other women's action, Kenya surprised by winning 1-0 against Ghana.
