Floris Jan Bovelander, better known as Boem Boem because of his devastating penalty corner strikes, was a member of the Dutch national squad that won the Hockey World Cup in 1990. Floris scored nine times in that competition, and the Netherlands beat host nation and cup holders Pakistan 3-1 in the final.

Six years later, Floris was part of the gold medal-winning squad at the Atlanta Olympics. He played 241 international matches for the Netherlands, scored a total number of 216 goals and participated in three Olympics. He is the second highest goal scorer of all time for the Netherlands, behind Paul Litjens.

Today Floris is passing on his hockey knowledge to the next generation through the hockey sports camps that he runs with his brother.
