Both the men's and women's teams of favorite South Africa booked a win on the opening day of the African Olympic Qualifier in Nairobi, Kenya. The women's team nailed Namibia 7-0, while the men's team was stronger than Ghana (4-1).
Host Kenya also opened the tournament with a double victory. The women's formation defeated Zimbabwe 1-0, while the men's team put the same score on the scoreboard against Nigeria.
The winners of the African Olympic Qualifier will be qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
