On Monday 18 October 2010 the German Ambassador to Namibia, Mr. Egon Kochanke, handed over a donation of hockey equipment to the President of the Namibian Hockey Union, Adv. Jesse Schickerling, in the presence of the President of the German Hockey Association, Mr. Stephan Abel. The donation was financed by the Federal German Foreign Office within the framework of its sports promotion programme which supports the development of sport in Namibia by, amongst others, sending experts, making donations of sport material and arranging for training courses for coaches at sport schools and universities in Germany.
