3-1 against New Zealand and were 5th.
Australia completed the 5th perfect campaign after Pakistan in 1978 and 1980, Netherlands in 2000 and Germany in 2001.
Teun de NOOIJER picked up a record equalling twelve career Champions Trophy medals collecting the bronze with Holland.

The Kookaburras left England no chances in the final and won their third Champions Trophy Gold Medal in a row.
Australia have won four of the last five major championships: the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Champions Trophies and the 2010 World Cup, whilst finishing third in the 2008 Olympics. The Kookaburras began with great pace, moved forward quickly and wanted to take the lead as quick as possible. They achieved the 1-0 in the 6th minute when Luke DOERNER flicked in a penalty corner. Only one minute later Glenn TURNER had a great run and laid-off for Desmond ABBOTT who fired the ball into the goal. This was the quickest 2-0 lead in a Champions Trophy final ever. Although being already 2-0 in front, the Kookaburras were not finished. Jason WILSON picked up a pass in the circle, did not hesitate and smashed the ball in. From now on the World Champion slowed down their pace and England came back into the game. They won three penalty corners in the last five minutes before halftime but were not able to benefit from them.
The halftime break was extended to nearly an hour because heavy rainfall in Monchengladbach made it impossible to continue with the second half on time. After several volunteers cleared the water off the pitch the second half was ready to go.
The English created fewer opportunities than you would expect from a team that needed to repair a 3-0 deficit but the Australians closed them down well in defence. The only goal that remained was a Jamie DWYER strike 21 minutes from time. DWYER was voted best player of the tournament.

Netherlands defeat Germany 4-1 and take the Bronze Medal
Dutch veteran Teun de NOOIJER won his 12th Champions Trophy medal today after he opened the score in the 9th minute. Now the 34-year old is the most decorated player in Champions Trophy history. The Netherlands deserved the win the Bronze Medal match because they have improved phenomenally.
Germany have failed to beat Netherlands in each of their last eight Champions Trophy encounters. The last German Champions Trophy win over Holland dates back to 2004. In Lahore, Germany emerged victorious 4-3. The performance of the German team keeps decreasing from game to game. They started off well against England and New Zealand and from their third match on they could not get back to their usual strength. However the inexperienced Dutch team was able to improve from game to game after they were defeated by New Zealand on Tuesday. Especially their goalkeeper Jaap STOCKMANN showed a huge development, playing two outstanding games against Germany at the weekend.
The Dutchmen dominated the whole game and kept up their pace for 70 minutes. Teun de NOOIJER was the first Dutchman to defeat German goalkeeper Tim JESSULAT in this game. JESSULAT did brilliantly today, thanks to him the Germans were only down by 0-2 at halftime. Germany found back into this match after being 0-4 down. After Florian WOESCH made it 1-4 the Olympic Champions wanted more, but a great performing STOCKMANN in the Dutch goal saved everything.

Spain secure participation in the 2011 Champions Trophy
Spain beat New Zealand 3-2 in the 5th place playoff which allows them stay in the Champions Trophy.
Spain have the best record in Champions Trophy classification matches on Sunday. The Spanish have won ten and drawn one in 14 classification matches. Spain by far lead all other countries in this respect.
Today they needed to win to secure their participation in next Champions Trophy. New Zealand played for pride because their result in Delhi's World Cup does not allow them to play in the 2011 Champions Trophy. Spain missed out two great opportunities in the first five minutes. Soon after Nicholas WILSON gave New Zealand the lead after he scored with a great reverse stick shot. After taking the lead the Black Sticks were the dominant side on the pitch however they needed to accept the Spanish equaliser before halftime.
The second half belonged to Spain who put more effort into the game. Santi FREIXA made it 2-1 and Roc OLIVA extended the lead only three minutes later. It took the Black Sticks some time to cope with the situation until they started to put pressure on Spain again. Simon CHILD's 3-2 brought hopes back, now it was obvious that New Zealand did not want to finish last. Spain defended very convincingly and were able to counter all the Black Sticks' attacks. The victory secured Spain's spot in 2011 Champions Trophy in India.
