View the revised match schedule

Forced changes have been made to match schedule for the men's Asian Games Qualifying Round which starts in Bangladesh today, with the tournament now to be played in a round robin format.

The tournament is being used as the qualification event for the 15th Asian Games to be held in Doha from 2-14 December 2006.

The changes were forced due to the non-appearance of the Indonesian team, making it impossible for the tournament to be conducted using two pools of four teams.

To keep within the original timeframe for the tournament to be contested, and to give all teams a sufficient number of matches in which to press their qualification claims, a decision was taken to hold the competition in a round robin format, with no finals.

The top four teams at the end of the round robin phase will gain a berth at the Asian Games and join the six teams granted direct entry into the competition: China, India Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Pakistan.
