It's not just the players who will be getting an opportunity to shine at the Rabobank Hockey World Cup. High level performance coaches are invited to take their coaching to the next level through two courses that will run simultaneously during the World Cup.
Coaches on the courses will be able to use live examples from the matches and listen to presentations from some of the best in the business on the FIH High Performance Coaching Course and Final Coaching Course. The courses, that are part of the High Performance Coaching Stream of the FIH Hockey Academy, will take place in The Hague, and are scheduled to run alongside the Rabobank Hockey World Cup. Both courses start on Tuesday 3 June and conclude on Tuesday 10 June.
FIH Hockey Academy Educators, including three FIH Master Coaches will be running the courses and they will be supported by presentations from international team Head Coaches, many of who will be from teams participating in the World Cup.
Applications are invited from two qualification groups:
Group A – the FIH Final Coaching Course – includes those who have qualified to join the FIH Selected list, including coaches who have previously attended an FIH High Performance or Development Coaching Course and were "highly recommended" to attend an FIH Final Coaching Course following assessment. Accepted applicants for this group must submit a written paper on an agreed coaching subject and will be required to make a presentation on the subject and conduct a practical session on the course.
The second group – the FIH High Performance Coaching Course – is for coaches currently working with high level adult hockey players and preparing teams for high level national and international competitions. Applicants must be nominated by their national associations and they are expected to hold the highest coach accreditation offered by that association.
As part of the programme of activities, the participants will be able to attend the opening ceremony of the Rabobank Hockey World Cup and engage in match analysis during the World Cup competition, using the most advanced methods.
