Canada earned a comfortable 4-1 win over Scotland in the final test match at Peffermill giving the Canadians the 2-1 win in the three-match series.

The Scots were caught cold in the opening five minutes when Philip Wright and Gabbar Singh put two past Jamie Cachia in the Scotland goal. The shell-shocked Scots took awhile to recover, but in 20 minutes pulled one back. Adam MacKenzie`s initial penalty corner shot was blocked, Michael Bremner miscued his rebound shot straight to Fergus Dunn who slapped the ball into the empty net. MacKenzie had a chance to equalise, but the Canadian keeper was equal to the task.

Cachia was called upon at the start of the second half to prevent Canada from increasing their lead. The Scots had a gilt-edged chance to restore parity when Callum Milne was fouled in the act of shooting, but MacKenzie`s woeful effort from the spot barely troubled the keeper. The Scots had further chances, Willie Marshall`s corner was saved on the line by a defender while Milne failed to connect with the goal at his mercy. Having survived these scares, the Canadians finished strongly with two late goals from Keegan Pereira and Mark Pearson.

Earlier in the day Scotland`s under 21 side completed the double with a crushing 5-1 win over Canada, Glynhill Kelburne striker Alan Forsyth scoring four of them. Forsyth`s two goals in the opening 25 minutes both came from deflections from crosses by Craig Falconer and Adam Walker. In a flurry before the interval, Ross Glashan scored with a low shot, then Forsyth completed his hat-trick with a low shot from the spot.

Forsyth went from saint to sinner early in the second half when his penalty effort this time was saved by the keeper after he himself had been fouled in the circle. In 52 minutes, the Kelburne striker got his fourth with a low shot from a penalty corner. The Canadians were allowed to pull one back from a late set piece, but it was little more than a consolation.
