Young hockey players in four different age groups will be taking part in their own World Youth Festival during the Rabobank Hockey World Cup 2014. The venue, at HC Zoetermeer, is just 10 kilometres from the World Cup venues.
With competitions at U12, U14, U16 and U18 level for boys and girls, the tournament is a great opportunity for young players to experience playing on the international stage. And with the Rabobank Hockey World Cup taking place at the same time, the players can become inspired by the top level competition taking place just down the road.
Teams from Canada, Australia, India, England, Spain, Belgium, Germany and many more countries have already signed up for the event. But there are still some spaces available.
The competition is being organised by former international Sander van der Weide, and the Sport Department at HC Zoetermeer. There are still spaces in the following categories: U12 girls, U14 girls, U16 girls, U18 boys and girls. The U12, U14 and U16 boys line-ups are already completed.
Competition dates are as follows: 31 May and 1 June: boys and girls U12 and U14 competition;
7 and 8 June (Whitsun): boys and girls U16 and U18 competition.
