Egyptian Hockey Federation: Belgium levelled their Test series with Egypt after a 4-2 win in the second match in Cairo yesterday.
Belgium made a good start and opened the scoring with a penalty corner drag flick to Benjamin van Hove in just the 3rd minute.
Egypt then controlled the match until drawing level in the 18th minute when Sameh Metwaly scored from a penalty corner.
However Belgium were quick to regain the advantage with Charles Vandeweghe capitalising on an Egyptian defensive mistake to score from the left side of the circle.
The match remained an opened encounter until the end of the first half, with Belgium going into the break leading 2-1.
Egypt began the second half with a full press but wasted three scoring chances before conceding a goal to Maxime Luycx and a 3-1 deficit to Belgium in the 44th minute after a good counter attack by the visitors.
Inside the final 10 minutes, Metwaly scored his second to give Egypt a chance but Belgium responded as Maxime Bertrand added a penalty corner in the 67th minute to secure victory.
Both coaches, Egypt's Norbert Nederlof from Egypt Belgium's Steven Davies were satisfied with the performance of their players during the open match.
