The Kookaburras have held off a determined Canadian team to record a 4-0 victory in Canberra.
In what was a tightly fought out contest, Canada took it up to the Kookaburras, denying Australia's strikers and space to move in the early stages of the match.
Despite having two penalty corners in the first 10 minutes, the Kookaburras did not record their first goal until the 29 minute mark thanks to some clever work from Des Abbott.
A late first half goal to midfielder Rob Hammond gave the Kookaburras more breathing space heading into the second half.
The match remained well contested, however when veteran Grant Schubert converted a penalty stroke at the 48 minute mark, the match appeared to be falling out of reach for Canada.
With Eli Matheson converting a penalty corner at the 53 minute mark the result was put beyond doubt, with the Kookaburras preventing a Canadian penalty corner with only two minutes remaining to ensure the opposition remained goalless.
