Pool play concluded today at the Asia Cup in Ipoh with two Pool B clashes. Korea's shut-out win against Oman with an impressive 10-0 final scoreline was followed by a 9-1 victory by India over Bangladesh. For Friday's semi-finals, this means that Korea will take on Pool A winner Pakistan, and India meet Malaysia.

Korea dominated today's encounter with Oman from start to finish, but were contained to two goals in the first half. A whirlwind second half however propelled the Koreans into double-digit territory, including a hattrick by penalty corner specialist and man of the Match Jang Jong Hyun - and an unfortunate own goal by the Omanis.

The match between India and Bangladesh also was an uphill battle for the Bangladeshis as India scored an early third minute goal and never looked back. Relying on set piece specialists Rupinder Pal Singh and VR Ragunath who scored four goals each, India took a 9-1 win with Bangladesh's lone goal coming from team captain Md. Mamunur Rahman Chayan just before the end of the first half.

The action in Ipoh continues after tomorrow's rest day with Friday's cross-over matches: Japan play Bangladesh and Oman play Chinese-Taipei in the 5th to 8th place classification, followed by the semi-finals pitting Pakistan against Korea and India against Malaysia.
