Great Britain Hockey is delighted to announce that after a thorough recruitment process, Andy Borrie has been appointed to the board of Great Britain Hockey as an independent director. He replaces David Collier, who has completed his four year term on the board.

48 year old Borrie (pictured) is Deputy Director of Sport at Loughborough University where he leads the University performance system and works with sporting National Governing Bodies to enhance their performance programmes. He has extensive experience as a consultant in world class sport science and coaching and is on the board of England Netball.

A hockey player with his local mixed hockey club, Loughborough Carillon, Andy said of his appointment: ÔÇ£It is an exciting opportunity to help Great Britain Hockey build on its recent success and to continue to strive for success in the future.ÔÇØ

Andy Borrie will officially take up the position on 1 September 2011.
