Netherlands is the new European Women's Champion. The Dutch team defeated Germany on Saturday in a spectacular final against Germany (3:2). Marilyn Agliotti was the match winner, scoring two goals in the final, including the winning goal.

Netherlands was the best team in for a sold-out 9'000 crowd in the Wagner Stadium in Amstelveen, Netherlands. After winning the World Cup in 2006, the Olympic Gold in 2008, Netherlands claimed its third major title. It was a tough match for the Dutch team against the 2007 European Champion, but a goal of Agliotti with less than ten minutes to play gave Netherlands the title.

England won the bronze medal. The English team defeated Spain 2-1. It was the third European bronze medal in a row for the English team.

Champion Netherlands, runner-up Germany, England and Spain are directly qualified for the BDO FIH World Cup 2010, to be played in Rosario, Argentina.
