After decades of service to hockey, former Honorary General Secretary of PAHF, Aaron Sher has retired after an illustrious career on and off the hockey field.

Aaron first picked up a hockey stick at the age of 14 and quickly became a star player in his native South Africa.  In 1977, Aaron migrated to the USA with his hockey sticks and all round passion for all things hockey.

Hockey Competition Director at the 1984 Olympic Games, Aaron then went to serve on the USA’s Field Hockey’s Board of Directors, FIH Executive Board and was Chair of FIH’s Media and Communications Committee.  Before moving to PAHF where he served in a variety of roles including the Board from 2005 to 2007 and Chairperson of the PAHF Media & Communications Committee since its creation in 2001 until 2011, when he became Honorary General Secretary.

In 2010, Aaron was awarded the FIH Order of Merit for his achievements, dedication and contribution to hockey.
