The FIH Targeted Assistance Programme (TAP) is the FIH's global initiative to support Continental Federations and National Associations in the development of long-term sustainable development projects or programmes. Below is a summary of the current projects in the region.
TAP West Africa
TAP West Africa is a FIH/AfHF Targeted Assistance Programme supported by UK Sport and England Hockey. The programme is an outcome of the successful England Hockey bid for the 2018 World Cup. The programme has the following objectives:
Phase one of the programme took place in Ghana from 17th to 27th May 2015. A TAP Team of experts travelled to Accra and Kumasi in Ghana to deliver elements of the project.
Phase 2 took place from 15th to 29th August when the Ghana National Women`s Team was hosted by England Hockey at Bisham Abbey and Loughborough University.
The team will continue with the training plan from Accra and there will be further Coach and Umpire Education programmes. This will coincide with an FIH Hockey Academy Educator training event where 2 of the TAP team will under go training. See the some of the latest FIH articles related to the programme below:
