The England Hockey women's squad for the Samsung FIH Champions Trophy, Women, Nottingham 2010 has been named.
The 18 athletes will represent England on home turf against world hockey giants Netherlands, Argentina, China, Germany and New Zealand at Highfields Sports Club in Nottingham between Saturday 10 and Sunday 18 July.
Included in the lineup is 19 year old Georgie Twigg, who made her senior international debut for Great Britain against Germany just last month and who has yet to represent England at senior level.
There is still plenty of experience in the squad with the inclusion of Reading trio Kate Walsh, Helen Richardson and Alex Danson and Leicester pair Crista Cullen and Chloe Rogers, who between them have nearly 500 caps for England and a further 278 for Great Britain.
After naming his squad, Head Coach Danny Kerry said, 'This has been a tight selection showing a growing depth in the squad. In Georgie Twigg, there is some new blood and she has come through our National Age Group Squads, reflecting the excellent work carried out by the staff of those programmes. I am sure Georgie will relish and enjoy the experience.
ÔÇ£The group is fit, well prepared and very much ready to go. We are a significantly better team than 12 months ago and we are all interested to see how far the other teams have developed since the last Champions Trophy. Charlotte Craddock and Crista Cullen make a return to senior hockey following a gap in 2009 and I am confident that both of them will add to our performance. Playing at home in a world level event presents a brilliant opportunity for players and staff to understand what this holds prior to the Great Britain team competing in the London 2012 Olympic Games. We look forward to home support and I know the players will demonstrate the passion and desire for success.'
Team England: Ashleigh Ball, Charlotte Craddock, Crista Cullen, Alex Danson, Susie Gilbert, Gemma Ible, Katie Long, Hannah Macleod, Helen Richardson, Chloe Rogers, Natalie Seymour, Beth Storry, Georgie Twigg, Laura Unsworth, Kate Walsh, Sally Walton, Nicola White, Kerry Williams.
